Travel, Car Parking & Public Transport

There are 3 car Ferries that serve the island; Portsmouth to Fishbourne (Wightlink), a 20 minute drive to us, Southampton to East Cowes (Redfunnel), a 25 minute drive, Lymington to Yarmouth (Wightlink) with a 35 minute drive.

There is limited parking roadside but additional parking is a two minute walk to the train station car park, this is never full - cost £2.50 per day

 

If you'd prefer to leave the car at home, Sandown is well connected to the rest of the island by excellent bus services (Southern Vectis) and Island Trains. Both offer easy-to-use apps with journey planning and live travel updates. Surprisingly, we are only 3 hours away from Central London on public transport. The IOW train links with both the hovercraft (10min crossing) and foot passenger Catamaran 20mins from Portsmouth and Sandown Train Station is a two minute walk from The Drey.
